When used as an underlayment beneath wood flooring and tile, it provides a higher level of protection than felt from the damaging effects of moisture. The underlayment lessens moisture migration from below to prevent moisture-related cracking, cupping and warping in finished floors.

The flooring surface protection is constructed from two layers of kraft paper, laminated with non-staining adhesive and heavily reinforced with glass fibers to resist punctures, tears and abrasions.
